Today we watched act three of the recorded performance of dont feed the animals. We made notes if things that we needed to correct and improve. Below are the notes I made:
The first part of Act 3:
Emeli Sande: Clown
We decided to stand OMG the stage blocks when singing the song so that it looked neater and the stage picture looked more comfortable and organised. We also needed to clear the stage of the clothes rail and our act 1 & 2 costumes. We also decided that we should make the song a little bit slower and more melancholy as it is a calm and soothing song and we want to show off Ben's ukulele :)
The clown routine:
We had very few notes for the clown performance as it went really well. We just decided that it needed to be tightened up and made just a little bit neater and that they should make clown car sound effects when they 'drive' off stage.
Amy's Introduction:
We decided that Amy's introduction needed to be much bigger and have classic clown jokes such as a 'bucket' of fake water if the audience, a huge banner saying 'don't feed the animals' and some lighting changes.
Animal Taming:
We liked the look if josh and ben's hoop jumping part and had no noted to improve it. Amber and I need to make bigger scarves for our juggling and also improve our entrance as it looked really messy. As a group we decided that we needed to have more energy and make animal noises so that it is obvious that we are animals. Also, when we grab Amy, she needs to look more traumatised and we need to look more vicious and dramatic.
We really need to fix the transitions between performances. We felt that we could do this by having the music tracks cut together in to one big track so that we aren't standing around too much.
